All residential & commercial properties put up either for sale or rent within the United Kingdom require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). The EPC provides potential tenants/home-owners/landlords with information regarding the energy performance of the building, as well as providing cost-effective recommendations for reducing household energy bills.

EPCs can only be completed by qualified and accredited domestic & non-domestic energy assessors.

Completing the energy assessor course Barking City & Guilds qualification in domestic & non domestic energy assessment will qualify you to complete EPCs on all existing domestic & non-domestic properties.

The Quidos domestic & non-domestic energy assessor course Barking qualification is comprised of a mix of classroom and distance learning elements.

We ensure that trainees have complied with each of the elements of the national occupation standards (NOS) for domestic & non-domestic energy assessment.

Once classroom training days are completed, you will then undertake a portfolio of 5 EPCs on a range of domestic & non-domestic properties.

Once our domestic & non-domestic energy assessor course Barking (DEA & NDEA) candidates have completed the domestic & non-domestic energy assessor DEA & NDEA training course and portfolio, they will be awarded a full qualification and be ready to practice as domestic & non-domestic energy assessors.

Following completion and becoming a DEA or NDEA (domestic or non-domestic energy assessor) and member of an accreditation scheme, an assessor will then be able to complete EPC’s (energy performance certificates) on domestic & non-domestic properties.

Domestic & Non Domestic energy assessor courses will provide successful candidates with the necessary qualification to become a domestic or non-domestic energy assessor and issue domestic & non-domestic energy performance certificates (EPC).

Energy performance certificates are required by law as part of the property documents collated by solicitors/conveyancers for every home that is constructed, sold or rented, in England & Wales.

Since October 2008 it has also become mandatory that landlords provide EPCs for all tenanted properties.

While the government has scrapped the need for home information packs (HIPs), the requirement for an EPC is still in place and these must be issued by a suitably qualified and registered domestic energy assessor.
