Who is appointed as the ‘responsible’ person within a company for legionella?
The responsible person undertakes day-to-day responsibility for managing control of any identified risk from legionella bacteria.
Anyone can be appointed as the responsible person for Legionella if they have sufficient competency, authority, knowledge & skills with regards to installation in order to to ensure that all operational procedures are carried out in a timely and effective manner.
The responsible person will need to be sufficiently qualified. Please choose the relevant course type to you below or call us on the number above and we will be happy to advise.
If a duty holder is a sole trader or a member of a partnership, and is competently trained, they may appoint themselves.
