1930s Domestic Housing

This Bitesize CPD module gives an overview of 1930s domestic housing. Understanding how domestic construction has changed throughout the years is an important aspect of being a domestic energy assessor and this module gives an introduction to the different types of dwelling that were built during this period.

This module will examine different types of construction including the classic 1930s semi-detached house before moving on to look at the typical heating system and services that were initially installed within 1930s properties. Finally the module concludes by looking through typical energy efficiency characteristics of dwellings from this era and how these buildings have had their energy efficiency retrospectively improved.

Completion of the module will provide 1/2 hour’s worth of CPD towards an assessor’s annual requirement.

The module is comprised of a presentation followed up by a short multiple choice quiz, which assessors will need to pass in order to obtain the certificate for the CPD. Upon completion of the module and successful undertaking of the quiz, a copy of the certificate will be provided to the assessors via the Quidos Training team.
