Quidos CPD Series: Heating
This Quidos CPD Series: Heating offers a thorough overview of all of the different heating controls that will be encountered during a domestic energy assessment, concisely covers all of the different secondary heating types that will be encountered during an assessment, provides a vital overview of domestic boiler systems and how they operate and offers an detailed analysis of all of the water heating systems which will be encountered during a domestic energy assessment.
Chapter one: RdSAP Heating Controls (600)
Incorrect entry of heating controls is one of the most common causes for EPCs failing the auditing process, and completion of this chapter should help remove any incorrect identification and entry of heating controls for a domestic EPC.
The chapter looks in detail at various critical subjects, including; all the different heating control options that can be found within RdSAP, the current Conventions that determine how heating controls should be entered, how heating controls should be identified and entered into the software, and what crucial evidence should be provided for every assessment undertaken.
Chapter two: RdSAP Secondary Heating (114426)
The chapter offers in-depth guidance on how the various different types of secondary heating can be correctly identified and differentiated from each other, as well as providing information on the efficiencies and characteristics for all the different forms of heating.
Incorrect entry of secondary heating is one of the primary causes for domestic auditing failures, and is one of the aspects of the EPC process that many assessors struggle with. There are a large number of different secondary heating systems that can be chosen from within the software, and it is imperative that secondary heating is entered correctly, otherwise it is likely to result in an auditing failure.
Chapter three: Domestic Boilers (114591)
Having an understanding of how a domestic boiler system operates is an essential aspect of being an energy assessor, and this chapter should prove useful for both domestic and non-domestic energy assessors alike.
This CPD chapter covers a large number of aspects relating to domestic boiler systems, including how they work, why they have proved so popular, and all of the different types of boiler system that are available to install.
The chapter also looks at the different heating fuels which can be used, the heating controls that boilers typically use, before finishing with a short guide on how to use the Product Characteristics database when producing a domestic EPC.
Chapter four: Domestic Water Heating (118186)
Correct identification of the water heating system is one of the most important aspects for an EPC assessment and an incorrect entry is likely to result in an auditing failure!
The Domestic Water Heating chapter looks in detail at various subjects including; all of the different water heating systems which will be seen during an EPC, how storage systems should be correctly entered within the software, what impact water heating has upon the final EPC result and certificate, and how the various Conventions which govern water heating entries should be followed.
Completion of the Quidos CPD Series: Heating can be used to provide 4 hour’s worth of CPD towards an assessor’s annual requirement. The Quidos CPD Series: Heating is comprised of a series of presentations followed up by short multiple choice quizzes, which assessors will need to pass in order to obtain the certificate for the CPD.
Upon completion of the Quidos CPD Series: Heating and successful undertaking of the quizzes, a copy of the certificate will be provided to the assessors via the Quidos Training team
