The Retrofit Assessor Course is designed for existing DEAs who wish to up skill and increase their knowledge and skill set as the industry grows.

In order to meet net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, it is essential that the UK’s existing housing stock is retrofitted with improvement measures of a quality and cost effective manner.

This course is offered as both a 2 day and 4 day course and costs just £250+VAT. Full course details below.

Course Entry Requirements

Candidates must hold the Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor qualification and be actively practicing.

In order to become fully qualified, candidates must carry out 20 hours of learning. 12 hours are completed on the course and the other 8 hours are made up of additional learning.

Therefore, we request all candidates complete and provide proof of CPD reading before the course starts on the following:

  • The TrustMark Framework
  • The TrustMark Code of Conduct
  • The TrustMark Customer Charter
  • A brief read of the Retrofit Assessor Manual

In addition to this, it is highly recommended, but not compulsory that candidates purchase or have access to a copy of PAS2035:2019.

The Quidos Retrofit Assessor Certification Scheme is a TrustMark approved scheme and operates within PAS 2035 Framework, the specification for the energy retrofit of domestic buildings.

The Retrofit Assessor plays a vital role within the creation of a whole house retrofit project.

Retrofit Assessors will undertake an assessment of a building looking to make energy efficient and cost-effective improvements. Incorporating RdSAP data collection, a condition survey and an occupancy assessment, the assessor will gather a variety of information, including but not limited to, the identification of the installed building services, an appraisal of the dwelling’s heritage and an identification of any constraints imposed by the local planning authority.

Course Structure

The retrofit assessor course can be completed in both a 2-day and 4-day format; both having 12 hours learning. Completed through Zoom, the course is split into the follow parts:

The 2 day version of the course will be ran 11am-5pm each day. The 4 day version of the course will be ran 10am-1pm
