Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme

The ESOS Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme is a new mandatory energy assessment and energy saving identification scheme for businesses in the UK.

The ESOS Registration

The ESOS Scheme aims to save the UK at least £1.6bn in energy costs by the year 2030. The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme will mandate energy audits for around 9,000 UK businesses. The ESOS Register is an Approved Register for Lead Assessors regulated by the Environment Agency and is offering registration for lead assessors.

ESOS Requirements

To be able to become a registered lead assessor with The ESOS Register, you will need to meet a number of requirements.

These requirements are as follows:

1. Have at least 2 years of relevant experience in the industry
2. Be a DEC and/or NDGDA and/or Commercial L3/L4 energy assessor
3. Attend an approved ESOS lead assessor training course
4. Pass a time limited test
5. Submit your application along with your documents by following the ‘apply now’ section

ESOS Pricing

After fulfilling all the requirements mentioned on our home page, assessors need to register with ESOSRegister.com to become Lead Assessors. The registration fee is £ 495+VAT in the first year that includes the joining fee. Annual subscription fee of £ 250+VAT has to be paid thereafter from the second year.

We offer an initial annual registration and application package for all new Lead Assessors joining our register and an annual renewal price for all existing members.

ESOS Phase 3 Details

Phase 3 of ESOS finished on 5th December 2023 and was superseded by Phase 4 which runs until 5th December 2027. Please see the dates of the first four ESOS phases below:
