As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we’re celebrating the incredible journeys of apprentices and the valuable contributions they make to our team. Beatrice Butt joined us as an apprentice, eager to learn and grow in a professional environment. To hear from our very own apprentice, please read below as she details her experience so far.
“I am just over half way through my apprenticeship and I am so glad I made the decision to further my education in this way. I always felt strongly about gaining further qualifications after completing my A-levels at sixth form. However, the idea of sitting in a university lecture hall for 3 years was something that never appealed to me. Having explored different avenues, it was the idea of an apprenticeship that caught my eye.
Enrolling onto an apprenticeship programme was the best decision I could have made. An apprenticeship has allowed me to learn the ins and outs of the operations that take place behind running a successful business. It has broadened my understanding of Quidos and taught me skills directly relevant to my role within the company. This creates the opportunity to become a more effective member of the Quidos team. Completing an apprenticeship allows you to gain invaluable business skills that you wouldn’t acquire by studying in a class room.
My experience of being an apprentice has been extremely positive and couldn’t recommend it enough. Completing an apprenticeship means you aren’t waiting to complete a qualification to start your career, you’re starting your career from day one. I have received immense support from both my Teacher at City Skills, along with Quidos. Because of my apprenticeship, I have the opportunity to be involved in projects and conversations that may not have happened otherwise.”
Beatrice’s Apprenticeship journey highlights the value of building skills and careers alongside traditional learning. Her dedication and growth has made her a valued team member, and we’re proud to support apprentices like her. As we celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we would highly recommend taking the opportunity to offer Apprenticeships or complete one yourself.
