This Quidos CPD Series: NDEA HVAC offers a crucial analysis the different HVAC systems that will be encountered during both a Level 3 & a Level 4 non domestic energy assessment. Entering a HVAC system correctly is one of the most important aspects of the non-domestic EPC process, and completion of this Quidos CPD Series: NDEA HVAC will help in ensuring that this aspect of the process causes no problems for assessors.
Chapter one: Level 3 HVAC Systems Part 1 (115091)
This chapter looks in depth at central heating systems using water distribution as well as split/multi split systems, and provides vital information and detail on both of these system types. This includes crucial information on how these systems can be identified, the benefits of their use and operation, and how efficiency levels should be calculated.
This HVAC systems chapter also gives an overview of why HVAC is important and how the SBEM calculation engine processes the data entered.
Chapter two: Level 3 HVAC Systems Part 2 (115096)
Following on from the first chapter in the series, this chapter looks at the remainder of Level 3 HVAC systems which will be encountered including room heaters, radiant heating systems and systems using air distribution. This chapter also addresses in detail at local mechanical exhaust systems which are commonplace in Level 3 buildings, and provides information on how their flow rates should be calculated.
Chapter three: Level 4 HVAC Systems Part 1 (116404)
This chapter is aimed at offering Level 3 assessors who are looking to upgrade to Level 4 a detailed overview of the systems they will encounter, but also provides a useful refresher for qualified Level 4 assessors.
This chapter looks in depth at fan coil systems, water loop heat pumps, chilled beams and chilled ceilings. This includes a critical overview of how these systems operate, the pros and cons of each and which systems offer the best efficiency.
The chapter also gives an overview of why HVAC is important and how the SBEM calculation engine processes the data entered.
Chapter four: Level 4 HVAC Systems Part 2 (116407)
Following on from the previous chapters in the series, this chapter looks at the remainder of Level 4 HVAC systems that will be encountered, including constant and variable volume systems and the different variations on these. This series will not be focusing on chillers, air handling unit and MTHW/LTHW boilers – these aspects will be covered by a future CPD module on the topic.
Completion of the Quidos CPD Series: NDEA HVAC can be used to provide 4 hour’s worth of CPD towards an assessor’s annual requirement. The Quidos CPD Series: NDEA HVAC is comprised of a series of presentations followed up by short multiple choice quizzes, which assessors will need to pass in order to obtain the certificate for the CPD.
Upon completion of the Quidos CPD Series: NDEA HVAC and successful undertaking of the quizzes, a copy of the certificate will be provided to the assessors via the Quidos Training team
