This module provides a thorough overview of the Minimum Energy Efficiency Requirements for domestic private-rented buildings which came into effect in April 2018 and updated further in April 2019. These standards will impact upon the vast majority of domestic buildings which are rented out, and the 2019 updates will see landlords being required to contribute further to the efficiency improvement of their dwellings.
Furthermore it looks in detail at the background to the standards, as well as looking through the details of the legislation and which types of building and tenancy will be impacted. The module also looks through which buildings will be exempt from the minimum standards, as well as exploring what the enforcement process will be for those who do not comply.
