Reduction in fees for lodging documents on the Energy Performance of Buildings Registers
As you are aware, the Energy Performance of Buildings (England and Wales) Regulations 2012 set the fees that are charged for entering Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), Display Energy Certificates (DECs) and Air Conditioning Inspection Reports (ACIRs) onto the EPC Registers. These fees are intended to cover the full cost of operating the Registers.
DCLG has committed to reviewing the fees for lodging EPCs, DECs and ACIRs onto the Registers on an annual basis, taking into account how many energy certificates are being lodged onto the Registers, how many we project will be lodged in the near future, and the costs of operating the Registers. The recent review concluded that fees should be reduced, due to an increase in the actual and projected level of lodgements of energy certificates onto the EPB Registers
Fees will be amended from £1.67 to £1.30 for a domestic lodgement and from £11.81 to £9.73 for a non-domestic lodgement. These new fees will come into effect on 6 April 2014 when an amendment to the Energy Performance of Buildings (England and Wales) Regulations 2012 comes into force. Additionally an amendment to regulations is being made to allow the keeper of the Register to disclose documents or data to the operator of the accreditation scheme through which the energy assessor entered the documents or data onto the register. This is intended to assist accreditation schemes with monitoring and quality assurance.
