Offering an introductory overview of the Section 63 regulations that were introduced in Scotland on September 1st 2016. These regulations will place mandatory requirements on owners of buildings greater than 1000m2 to improve upon the energy efficiency and carbon emissions of their buildings by either implementing a set of improvement measures or annually reporting upon energy consumption. The legislation therefore provides an excellent opportunity for non-domestic energy assessors with a background in building construction and services to increase the service which they can provide to their clients.
This module will look in detail at what is involved with Section 63, why the legislation has been introduced, what work will be involved in creating an ‘Action Plan’, and which individuals will qualify to operate as section 63 Advisors. By taking this module you will be left with a full understanding of what will be involved in the launch of Section 63 and be in a position to explain the upcoming legislation to your affected clients.
